The SSFH (AKA the "Single Speed from Hell")

1970s Univega frame, generic chromed fork, 19" frame size

• This frame, built with different components, was my primary touring bike in the early 1980s
• Gave the bicycle to my sister in the mid-1980s for her to use at achool - she toured on it too
• Got the bicycle back in 1997 - used as a beater / work bike
• Rebuilt as a 26" coaster-brake 3-speed in 2004, then as a 27" freehub 6-speed in 2010
• The original paint was in bad shape, so resprayed in current black + colorful polka-dot pattern
• Converted to a flip-flop 700C singlespeed in late 2019
• Not geared very high - 38 tooth chainring, 18 tooth fixed cog or freewheel - I like to spin
  • Spends nearly 100% of its time in fixed-gear mode
    • Riding in fixed-gear mode helps in improving riding smoothness and form
• Cushy saddle for comfort
